September is National Service Dog Month — and here at Mydeye, it's personal. We're celebrating the dogs who change lives, the veterans they serve, and yes, every devoted human who wakes up at 6am for a creature who has never once said thank you. These dogs spend years in rigorous training to perform specific, life-critical tasks for their handlers — from detecting a blood sugar crash before the person feels it themselves, to helping a veteran navigate a crowded store without a panic attack.
What makes a service dog different from your average pet dog (beyond the very serious little vests and the "please do not pet me" energy) is the depth of their purpose. They aren't just companions. They are life support. The people who raise them, train them, and work alongside them deserve every ounce of appreciation we can give.
